Brett Young grew up in Southern California. When he decided to get serious about making a career in country music he moved to Nashville. Not only did he fall in love with the city, he has also fallen in love with the camaraderie among the people.

“I think my favorite thing about country music and the country genre is the country music community. I don’t know that there’s a lot of other genres of music that you would call a family. I feel like, for the most part in entertainment in general, people feel like they have to tear somebody else down in order to achieve on their own. And I love that country music is a family. Everybody knows that they can succeed and help the person next to ‘em at the same time. I felt that about this community from the second I got to Nashville, and it’s really refreshing.”

Having worked in country music myself for so long I agree with Brett. I would also add that the country music community also includes the fans. There is a connection between the people that truly love the country music genre. I am proud to be a part of both sides of the community as fan and professional.

Brett just announced he’ll be releasing a brand new song on April 14th called “Dance with Me.” In introducing the song, Brett said, “I always imagined that my first dance at my wedding would be with the only person I would slow dance with for the rest of my life. It was true for me. Call me a hopeless romantic, but I love stories about dreams coming true.”
