NFL players and fans have been showing their support for Damar Hamlin by donating millions of dollars to a charity that he created coming out of college.

Damar Hamlin’s goal was simple: He wanted to raise money to buy toys for needy kids. He started the GoFundMe in 2020 at 24 years old and early Monday, it had less than $3,000 in donations.

Then the Bills vs Bengals game came Monday night, and Damar was critically injured when he went into cardiac arrest on the field during the first quarter and is in critical condition He instantly became one of the biggest stories in sports, and thousands of people found his GoFundMe page and started donating, and sharing it.

The result: over $6 Million and rising (at the time of this post.)

Some of the donations were small, while others were more than $5,000, and some major players like Tom Brady have even given $10,000 to the cause.
