Eric Church shares that when he was a kid the Fourth of July got better as he got older.

“Fourth of July growing up for me was always, we would always go to the lake, we would always get on the pontoon and you go out and you’d tie all the pontoons together and you know,  just have a big time. I was younger then. The adults were having more fun than we were. You know, it was just to go swim in the water and shoot off fireworks. Basically water tailgating is what it was. And then as we got older, same thing … we would just, us younger kids had our own boat and we had the same amount of fun as the adults.”

You don’t think he meant as he got older he had “A Drink In My Hand” do you?

Whatever you do to celebrate the birth of this Great Nation, be safe. Have a Happy Fourth of July!
