Sam Hunt’s latest single “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s” speculates that ending relationships was easier before being so connected.

With Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and every other platform for social media, we are more connected to the people we know more than ever before. Sam’s latest single laments that may not always be the best thing for us.

“‘Breaking Up Was Easy in the ’90s’, that’s a song that kind of speaks to the times a little bit. My favorite line from that song is ‘Modern love leads to modern hearts breaking. I’m just a product of my generation.’ Just a fun, kind of simple reflection on how much more difficult it is to be so connected, the downside of being so connected, nowadays.”

The latest single from Sam is approaching the Top 10 at #12 on the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts for radio airplay.

Do you think breaking up was easier prior to social media?
