During a recent interview and a personal Instagram Story video, Thomas Rhett spoke of the “shift” he made with his music and how he learned to stop measuring his success with others.

“I think when you’re stuck in that comparison world … I mean, comparison is the thief of all joy,” says Thomas. “You start to put a record out, but then someone the week before you put a bigger one out, and you go, ‘Well, mine doesn’t matter anymore.”

Thomas says he just stopped worrying so much about how people perceived his music and just became satisfied with his own success and didn’t measure it against anyone else’s.

Thomas says his music began to shift back to what it was when he first entered into the music scene and calls his latest work, “Country Again” calling it, “some of the best work I’ve ever done.”

Country Again Side A will be released on April 30th and Side B will release later this year. Has this past year prompted you to make a shift within your life? Share your story.
