Father’s Day is Sunday (6/21) and Luke Bryan still lives by lessons learned from his father. He is also passing those lessons down to his own sons.

Luke says that he has taken to heart all of the things his father taught him as he was growing up.

“My dad was just always big on just hard work, and being good to people. And, his famous sayin’ always was, ‘Do something right the first time and you won’t have to go back and do it over again.’ And, [I’m] not saying I’ve batted a thousand perfectly on that, but I’ve tried to kinda live by that.”

Now, as a father himself, Luke is doing what he can to pass along his father’s values to his own sons.

“I mean, I always go back to the life lessons that always started either in a fishing boat or somewhere hunting somewhere. And that’s why I’ve always kind of been a champion for those types of behaviors, certainly with your boys and your children, because you just get to spend time [together] and hand down values.”

You hear some of those values included in some of his #1 songs like “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” and “Most People Are Good.”

You can hear both of those songs as well as his latest single “One Margarita” (a life lesson of another kind) on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.

What lesson you learned from your father are you passing down to the next generation?
