Celebrate National Root Beer Float Day and Help Disabled Veterans

Today (8/6) is National Root Beer Float Day. You can celebrate with a FREE root beer float and help disabled veterans.

The root beer float was created by an owner of a gold mining company in Colorado in August of 1893 according to nationaldaycalendar.com. The man called his creation a “Black Cow Mountain” which local children shortened to “Black Cow.” Now we just call it a Root Beer Float.

A&W Restaurants are offering free small Root Beer Float (their signature treat) today from 2 PM to 8 PM. There is no purchase necessary, just stop by any A&W location to get yours.

While it is not required to get the free sweet treat, A&W is accepting any and all donations for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). I mean you’re getting a free A&W Root Beer Float … why not throw at least a dollar in for these American Heroes!

Happy National Root Beer Float Day!
