Jason Aldean is set to release a new album Friday titled Rearview Town and he says it “translates live.”

The project is Jason’s eight studio album. He explains what the correlation between his recorded music and live shows are to him.

“My live shows are, you know, such an important selling tool for the record for me,” Jason states. “I mean, that’s how we get out promote the album. So, I want things that are gonna translate live.”

“I’m constantly listening for that stuff,” he admits, “That’s something that’s always in the back of my mind when we’re cutting songs for a record.”

If you consider the debut single from the album “You Make It Easy,” I would say Jason has achieved that. Check out a video of him performing that song from the 2018 Rodeo Houston below.

That song is also translating well at country radio. “You Make It Easy” sits at #4 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts this week … and still climbing.

We’ll have to wait until Friday the 13th (Jason is hoping it is a lucky day for him) to judge if we think the rest of the album will translate live or not. One song I hope we get to see him perform live WITH his duet partner for the track is “Drowns The Whiskey.” It is a song that Jason recorded with Miranda Lambert for the album. Listen below as he discusses getting her to appear on the track and album.

It could be a big weekend for Jason as his album is released and his is also nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the 53rd ACM Awards, Sunday, April 15th at 8/7 central time on CBS.

Look for the new album Rearview Town from Jason Aldean digitally and in music stores everywhere this Friday, April 13th. Listen for “You Make It Easy” by Jason Aldean on B104.
