Luke Bryan reached a career milestone this week as his latest single “Most People Are Good” became his 20th career #1. He says that accomplishment puts things in perspective.
Like all people who choose the path as a singer, Luke started out with some goals he wanted to reach including the one every artist wants, “You dream of one No. 1.”
However, it’s the pure joy of doing what you love that drives most artists overall. “I’m just out there doing what I do, having fun,” Luke shares.
Of course, he did achieve getting that number one back in 2010 with his song “Rain Is A Good Thing.” That song was his fifth single released. Prior to that chart topping single Luke had gotten close with his debut single “All My Friends Say” hitting #5 in 2007, his third single “Country Man” reaching #10 and his fifth single “Do I” falling just one spot short at #2.
Since that first #1 single Luke has had nothing but chart topping singles. He reveals what has been going on as “Most People Are Good” kept getting closer to the top of the charts.
“Every now and then somebody walks up and goes, ‘Hey, you know you’re about to have your 20th No. 1,'” Luke says.
How did those comments affect the country music superstar? “I’m like, it really puts things into perspective,” Luke admits. Here’s some more perspective for you, those 20 number one singles have all come consecutively.
Luke’s career has included six studio albums, four compilation albums and eight EPs being released. Those include two Gold albums, one Platinum and three multi-Platinum albums.
Luke’s current album What Makes You Country features his 20th career #1 single and is quickly approaching Gold Certification. That album is available digitally and in music stores everywhere.
Congratulations on another career milestone Luke Bryan. I think there will be more to come since you don’t show any signs of slowing down any time soon.
