Amazing High School Basketball Buzzer Beater Shot [VIDEO]

An Evanston, Illinois high school freshman became the hero of his basketball team with an amazing buzzer beater shot that was almost a full-court shot!

Evanston High School is in a northern suburb of Chicago that is on the shore of Lake Michigan.

Blake Peters was on the court at the end of the game when the opposing team was leading by one point and at the free throw line. The free throw was missed and Blake got the ball with just enough time to lob it toward his team’s basket from at least 3/4 the length of the court.

To the delight of the home team fans in attendance, THE SHOT WENT IN! The unlikely buzzer beater shot gave the Wildkits the win 45 to 44!

“I couldn’t breathe,” Blake told the local newspaper. “That was one of the best moments of my life” the 15-year-old added. “I started running and all my teammates tackled me.”

I had somebody once ask me at a basketball game, “Why do they throw the ball at the basket like that at the end of a game?” The viral video of Blake’s buzzer beater shot at the top of the page demonstrates my answer of, “Because you just never know.”
