Leave it to the internet to make something out of nothing, and leave it to Country artists to stand up for what is right. While appearing on CBS’ The Talk earlier this week, Little Big Town‘s Kimberly Schlapman defended comedian Patton Oswalt.

Patton has been criticized quite a bit over the past year after his wife passed away, and most recently receiving criticism for getting engaged to actress Meredith Salenger 15 months after his wife, Michelle McNamara, passed away. The internet “trolls” as we call them, were claiming “it’s too soon” for him to re-marry, and “how dare he?”

Well, the criticism hit close to home for Kimberly, as her relationship with now-husband Stephen Schlapman began less than a year after her first husband, Steven Roads, died tragically in 2005. Kimberly felt someone needed to be in Patton’s corner, so she took the opportunity to stand up for him!

Bravo, Kimberly!
