The summer is full of time off for most people. However, Chris Young says that he gets to work during the summer.

Most of us get to enjoy three-day-weekends and vacation time during the summer months, Chris says that is when he is the busiest.

“When you look at Memorial Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July. That’s work time,” he states with a laugh. “Everybody else is kind of getting a chance to relax a little, but as a musician normally you’re playing somewhere.”

Chris has friends that are not musicians and he gets invites to events in the summer. How does he deal with those invitations?

“It’s always tricky trying to work that out,” Chris confesses, “With everybody else going ‘We’re going to have a Bar-B-Que. Are you going to come over?’ I’m going to be in, you know, the middle of the country, or I’m gonna be in Seattle, or…you just kind of never know.”

As much as Chris misses being at those summertime gatherings with friends, I’m sure he is very happy to spend the time performing for fans all across the country in the summer. You could say he is living out the title of his new single “Losing Sleep” during the summer. Watch the lyric video for the song below.
