Last night Blake Shelton brought his concert tour to the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, IL with special guest RaeLynn. I was lucky enough to get to go to the Blake Shelton VIP Experience before the concert.

The experience had a bar (come on, it is Blake after all), Blake’s chair from The Voice and more for those attending to enjoy.

When the man of the hour made his appearance at the event walked out on a small stage set up for him. He sat down with his guitar and sang a song. Next Blake answered questions submitted from the audience submitted prior to the event.

In the first Q&A video from the VIP Experience below Blake talks about what duet partner made him the most nervous to perform with and it was not Gwen Stefani. He says Gwen makes him nervous for other things.

He also reveals what is the best advice was that he was given and who gave it to him. Blake explains that Trace Adkins told him that his #1 song “Sangria” sucks and what his response to Trace was. We find out what Blake hopes to be doing when he is 70 as well.

After singing the “Sangria,” and saying “Screw Trace Adkins,” Blake got back to answering questions.

In the next Q&A video below, Blake tells everybody what his “guilty pleasure” food is and explains that he feels that living in the “middle of reality” in Tishomingo, OK is what helps keep him humble.

When asked what is the one thing about him the people would be surprised to know, Blake laughingly said, “I don’t think there is anything left for anybody to learn about me.”

Blake does reveal that people might be surprised to find out he likes gardening and that although he grows tomatoes and watermelons, he doesn’t to eat them.

Blake tells the story of when he won $400 and felt like things would be alright for a while with that amount of money.

We find out what animals he now has at his home in Oklahoma which includes a dog with a “licking problem.”

While telling the story of one of his most embarrassing moments on stage Blake takes a shot at his friends Rascal Flatts by saying, “Do they even exist anymore?” Then, he goes on to explain how that embarrassing moment involved him “hyper-extending” a very sensitive part of his body.

Blake’s talent, personality and honesty (his current album is titled If I’m Honest) made the VIP Experience a great one for all those who were there. Those same qualities also made the concert a great time for the fans that packed the Peoria Civic Center.

Blake returns to NBC TV Monday night (9/19) as season 11 of The Voice begins with the Blind Auditions.
