Lauren Alaina was chosen by ESPN to create a song for the upcoming college football season.

Lauren teamed with songwriters Jesse Frasure and Emily Weisband to write the song titled “History.” The American Idol alum then recorded the song written specifically for ESPN’s college football coverage.

The sports network will use the song across all platforms to promote the top college football match-ups each week.

The song will also be used in the campaign to build to the College Football Playoff (CFP) semifinals that will take place New Year’s Eve and the CFP National Championship game January 11, 2016.

Lauren is very excited to be a part of the college football coverage on ESPN, “For a southern girl, college football is everything. I am so pumped to have my song used for ESPN’s college football coverage.”

She is also appreciative to the network for giving her some extra cool points with the men in her life, “Thank you ESPN for giving me something to make my boyfriend, dad, and brother think I’m that much cooler!”

Lauren and alternative rock band Imagine Dragons were the only two artists chosen to contribute new songs for the college football promotion from ESPN this season.
