There are rumors of many artists from other genres trying their hand in country music. The latest scuttlebutt raises the question is Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler going country?

The answer is in a way, maybe. Music Row reports that Steven is in Nashville working with the Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) for an upcoming project. BMLG is the home to many of country music’s biggest names including Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, Justin Moore, Rascal Flatts, Brantley Gilbert, Thomas Rhett, Tim McGraw, Reba and many more.

This is also the label group that produced the 2014 project Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe. The project brought some of country music’s big stars together with the legendary 80s rock band Mötley Crüe for a collaborative album of some of the band’s biggest hits.

The Music Row story points out that Steven first talked about working on a country music project during a Twitter Q&A in December of last year. The legendary rocker said he would be in Nashville in Januray, February and March of 2015 to write and see what could happen.

Steven also said that he actually has always liked country music: “There’s just a piece of me that loves country so much, and I’m not sure what kind of country that is, but it’s got the 5th harmony…it’s just those kind of melodies that are just so so good.”

Steven has been around country music very publicly for a few years now. He performed with Carrie Underwood on the 46th ACM Awards Show in 2011. You can watch their performance of “Undo It” and “Walk This Way” in the video below. The two also collaborated for an episode of CMT’s Crossroads in 2012.

Apparently Steven has been showing up at venues around Music City in recent years for surprise performances including the famed Blue Bird Café and with Keith Urban at the legendary Tootsies just to name a couple.

I will say that I am intrigued by a country project from Steven Tyler. How about you?
