Blake Shelton paired his two teenage female country artists for the battle rounds and had to make a tough choice on which to keep on “The Voice.”

We have seen over the years that when it comes to young aspiring singers Blake has a huge teddy bear of a heart. He really strives to encourage them and help them as they chase their dreams. Just look at how much he has helped RaeLynn and Danielle Bradbery in their careers just to name a couple.

Last night (3/16) Team Blake’s 19-year-old Brenna Yaeger and 16-year-old Kelsie May took the stage to perform the classic hit by Reba “Fancy.”

It makes you wonder why he would pair the two teens in the battle round. When you think about the premise of the show the answer to that makes sense. Moving forward on the show Blake has to bring his team down to a set of artists that can get the votes to keep moving on.

If he has two similar artists on his team the votes will be split between them and there is a danger that both artists could be eliminated as a result. However, knowing that doesn’t make the decision any easier for Blake when it comes time to choose a winner of the battle.

Watch the battle between Team Blake’s Brenna Yaeger and Kelsie May below and see which teen Blake chose to keep on season eight of “The Voice.”

The battles will come to an end tonight when season eight of “The Voice” continues at 7pm central time on NBC.
