Florida Georgia Line Donate K-9 to Indianapolis Police

Florida Georgia Line gave Indianapolis police a special surprise this Saturday…a new police dog!

Before headlining their FGL Fest show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 7th, Brian and Tyler surprised the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department with a new police dog!

Brian Kelley and his wife Brittney first met the German Shepard Puppy last year when he was 10 weeks old, they adopted the puppy and named him Sarge. Once they started to have him trained by a special trainer, Mike Sweeney, they realized Sarge had very special talents and would make a strong police dog.
That’s when Brian and Brittney knew, they had to let Sarge be the dog he was meant to be, so instead of being a member of the Kelley family, they paid to have him professionally trained (which is NOT cheap) for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, and Sarge will now be an explosive detective dog.
I’m sure it wasn’t easy to give Sarge up, but bless Brian and Brittney for realizing he was meant for greater things.
“We are so excited that Sarge will live a life of keeping people and his officers safe,” Brian and Brittney Kelley said in a joint statement.

The IMPD couldn’t have been more excited to welcome the newest member to their team…

“Thank you, Florida Georgia Line for IMPD’s newest K9 partner! #WeAreIMPD,” the department captioned a Facebook post with a photo of the band posing with Sarge. According to IMPD Segeant Grace Sibley, the puppy, whose new handlers have yet renamed, will be used as an explosive detective dog.
