New Old Dominion Song was Not Planned, but they did “Make It Sweet”

Old Dominion did not plan their new song “Make It Sweet,” it happened spontaneously. Most songs start as an idea then get written and recorded over time. That was not the case for this song from the reigning ACM Vocal Group of the year.

“Make It Sweet’ was pretty unique. We went into the studio with actually no plan. We just had studio time planned and we went in with our producer and friend, Shane McAnally, and wrote something from scratch and recorded it that day. And, it turned out to be this song, ‘Make It Sweet’.”

Not only did they come out of that day in the studio with a song that was not planned, it was good enough to name their upcoming 2019 headlining tour after.

One can also speculate that their forthcoming third studio album could also be titled after the song and the tour since the song is the lead single from the project. We do not have a release date for the new album yet. However, again I would speculate that it could be before the tour starts in January and quite possibly in time for the Christmas holiday season.

The Old Dominion “Make It Sweet Tour” will make its second stop right here in Bloomington, IL Saturday, January 19th at Grossinger Motors Arena. The stop includes special guest Jordan Davis, & Morgan Evans. Tickets are on sale now. Get complete concert and ticket details here.
