The lyric video for the song “Better Me” by Montgomery Gentry is a tribute to the late Troy Gentry of the duo.

For nearly 20 years Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have been making music as one of the most successful duos in country music history. Montgomery Gentry has produced eight studio albums, released 30 singles and had five #1 singles since 1999.

The duo had just completed recording their ninth studio album when Troy was tragically taken from us in a helicopter crash in early September of this year.

Troy sang lead on the song “Better Man” from that album which will be the first single from the album. The duo’s record label Average Joe’s has produced a lyric video for the song and it was released yesterday (10/19). The video features pictures of Troy through his career and life … an obvious tribute to the country music star.

In a quote on Billboard.com about the lyric video, Troy’s duo partner and friend Eddie says, “What can I say, this song says it all. Troy never sounded better. This video is like a walk down memory lane for me and T-Roy over the years. So many great memories. I am glad to share this with our friends.”
