Blake Shelton Performs “She’s Got A Way With Words” on ‘The Voice’ Finale [VIDEO]

Blake Shelton performed the song “She’s Got A Way With Words” from his new album If I’m Honest on the season 10 finale of The Voice.

Blake’s new album was released last Friday (5/20) and when I first listened to it “She’s Got A Way With Words” really caught my attention. I had to wonder about the inspiration for the song considering what Blake was going through while he was making the album. However, I looked and the song was not written by Blake. It was written by Wyatt Earp, Andy Albert, Marc Beeson. So, don’t read too much into the lyrics just because it is sung by Blake.

Furthermore, Blake has had the song for quite some time apparently. Another reason not to read too much into the lyrics of the song. “That’s one of the ones I’ve had for a while you know that dates back to before everything,” Blake says, “so it’s like that’s so crazy that I’ve had that song and loved the song.”

Blake explains why he has wanted to put the song on an album for some time, “I just thought it was so clever … It’s one of the most well written songs I’ve heard in my life you know. And, for it to be so tongue in cheek … they wrote the hell out of that song.”

The debut single from the new album “Came Here To Forget” is in the top five on the country singles charts and looking like it will be Blake’s next #1 soon. I would make a guess that “She’s Got A Way With Words” has a good chance of being the next single from the album since he not only performed it on the finale of “The Voice” last night, but also on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
