CBS debuted the first look at the ‘Big Bang Theory’ spin-off, ‘young Sheldon’, yesterday! From the first look, it looks like young Sheldon Cooper and pretty much the same as the older Sheldon Cooper; an awkward, train loving, genius who has zero filter. Having adult Sheldon actor, Jim Parsons, provide the voice over will only add to the hilarity! This new show will be set in Sheldon’s childhood home in Texas starting in 1989.

Sheldon’s relationship with his family is going to be the most interesting part of this show though, in my opinion.  Fans of ‘Big Bang’ know that Sheldon’s dad passed away when he was young but being that his father is in this trailer, one has to wonder whether we witness his death.  Also, while not seen in this trailer, we HAVE to see Sheldon’s Me-Maw (his grandmother), right???

I think we can honestly say that most spin-offs are terrible, but this one has a chance to be something good. Mainly because it seems like it is going to be a different show than ‘Big Bang’. ‘Young Sheldon’ looks like a show that is going to have as many heart warming (or heart wrenching if we witness Sheldon’s dad die) as comedic moments. Either way, I’m excited!

‘Young Sheldon’ will debut this fall on CBS.
