Man Sues Date For Texting During ‘Guardians Of Galaxy: Vol. 2’

There is nothing more blood boiling then when you see a little screen light up at the movie theater! I usually mutter a few dirty words under my breath and silently judge the person who is texting during the movie. However, a heroic man from Texas has decided to step it up a notch! Break out the lawyers, IT’S LAWSUIT TIME!

First, some back story. Brandon Vezmar is a 37 year old man from Austin, Texas who decided to take his date, a 35 year old woman, to the movies to see ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2’. According to the Statesman, an Austin Newspaper, Brandon’s date was texting throughout the whole movie! Being that Brandon shelled out some extra cash for the 3D show, each ticket cost a little over $17, he was more than a little annoyed by this.

“It was kind of a first date from hell,” he said to the Statesman. “This is like one of my biggest pet peeves.”

Poor Brandon said she started texting 15 minutes into the movie and when he asked her to stop, she refused. Eventually, after Brandon asked her to text in outside the theater, she got up and left the theater. The cherry on top, she was Brandon’s ride too, so he had to get a ride home. Classy lady right?

So what is an upstanding citizen like Brandon to do when you buy your date a movie ticket, she texts during a majority of the movie, and then leaves you at the theater? Lawyer up! Brandon is suing his date for the price of the movie ticket.

Without shock, this story is making it’s way around the twitterverse and has made it to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ director, James Gunn. Gunn’s response is gold, Jerry, gold!

Ah, yes. James Gunn, the hero we need in a situation like this. But yeah! Anyone texting during ‘Guardians: Volume 2’ deserves jail time! The movie is awesome and wickedly entertaining! Here is what I feel bad about most though… I got to really enjoy the movie when I went to go see it. Brandon, on the other hand, was either fighting to get this woman to stop texting or was annoyed after discovering he had to find a new ride home. Either way, he didn’t get to enjoy the movie.

My advice to Brandon, use that $17 you should easily win in the lawsuit to go see the movie again!
