What!?! Sleeping In is Now Bad for Your Health!?!

The latest health concern could be that sleeping in on weekends is bad for your health.

According to a study at King’s College in London, irregular sleep schedules can have negative consequences on your gut bacteria. The study speculates that can lead to obesity, inflammation and even heart problems.

According to researchers, if the mid-point of your sleep schedule is altered even by 90-minutes it can impact your gut health. That means if you stay up late for any reason during the week or decided to catch some extra rest by sleeping in on the weekend, you could be harming your health.

The study points out that what you eat and drink plays a major impact on your gut health. However, they still say disruptions to your internal clock can also play a significant role.

According to one of the researchers, “Maintaining regular sleep patterns . . . so when we go to bed and when we wake each day . . . is an easily adjustable lifestyle behavior we can all do, that may impact your health . . . for the better.”

I don’t know about you, but I will risk the health issues for my extra rest on the weekends when I can get it.
