Titanic writer, director and producer James Cameron is shutting down the fan debate over whether or not the door could have held both Jack and Rose at the end with a shocking revelation.

It wasn’t a door! Cameron explained it was a piece of wood from a first-class cabin that Rose floated on. Going even further, they had a forensic examination done on that piece of wood. The results of that examination will be revealed during a National Geographic special called Titanic: 25 Years Later airing February 5th.

You can clearly see during the scene below that in fact it was NOT a door. However, the scene does not indicate one way or another on if both could have been supported by the debris.
