Kyle Larson’s Win in Las Vegas Gives Hendrick Motorsports Back-To-Back 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Wins [VIDEO]

Yesterday (3/7) Kyle Larson had a dominant day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on his way to winning the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.

Just one week previous Kyle’s Hendrick Motorsports  teammate William Byron claimed the victory in the Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

When the race began yesterday afternoon it was obvious the race was going to be full of side-by-side racing. Drivers went two, three and even four wide from the drop of the green flag to start the 267 lap race. This hard racing for position continued from start to finish for the most part.

There were 27 lead changes in the race between 12 different drivers. While there were plenty of lead changes, Kyle Larson ranked highest on laps led with 103 laps out front. The next closest in laps led was Denny Hamlin who held the lead for 47 laps.

There were six caution flags including the two at the end of the first two stages. Brad Keselowski was able to claim the win in stage one while Kyle Larson won stage two.

Kyle Larson led the race a total of six times. His final time leading the race started with 29 laps left in the race. Kyle held the lead for all of those laps to claim his seventh checkered flag as a driver in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Brad Keselowski claimed the runner-up finish. Kyle Busch crossed the finish line in third place with Denny Hamlin next in fourth. Ryan Blaney rounded out the top five. See the complete race results for the Pennzoil 400 here.

Denny Hamlin remains the point leader following the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski vaults up to second place. Kyle Larson’s win also gives him a big jump to third place. Chase Elliott moves up a spot to take over fourth with Christopher Bell moving up to complete the top five. See the complete NASCAR Cup Series point standings here.

The teams head to the desert and Phoenix Raceway next. The drivers will duel in the desert in the Instacart 500 Sunday afternoon, March 14th.
