Singer-songwriter Brantley Gilbert says he thinks it is “weird” when people get a tattoo of his face on their body.

It’s not that Brantley is anti-tattoo. In fact, it is quite the opposite. He has plenty of ink on his own body including a massive piece on his back of his two favorite pistols (pictured on right).

Brantley is flattered when he inspires fans to get a special tattoo. However, he just can’t seem to wrap his head around the idea of his face on a fan’s body in ink.

“To me, yes, it’s extremely weird because if somebody gets my face, it’s my face on somebody else’s arm,” Brantley says. “As far as my signature and my face go, maybe my signature is a reminder of a song that means something to ’em or maybe something happened at a show that’s memorable to ’em. The face thing …Yeah …yeah … uh, yeah (laugh).”

On the other end of the spectrum for him is his song lyrics on a fan as a tattoo.

“A lot of people will get song lyrics and stuff. It’s an extreme case of one of the most rewarding things about what I do for a living, is when somebody comes up and says, ‘Hey man, this song helped me through this’ or ‘I relate to this and it inspires me for this’. So that’s cool.”

When it comes down to it, every tattoo has meaning to the person that gets it. That is if alcohol is not involved in the decision process. THOSE tattoos can sometimes be followed by regret the next day.

Do you have a tattoo of somebody’s face? Do you have any tattoos you now regret?
