Watch out ‘Avatar’, the Avengers have assembled! After just two weeks in theaters, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has made more money world wide than any movie in history… expect for one…James Cameron’s 2009 3D phenomenon, ‘Avatar’.

That film made $2.78 Billion during it’s 47 day theatrical run while ‘Endgame’ has eclipsed the $2 billion dollar mark after just 2 weekends. In other words, the Avengers are coming for the top grossing movie of all time spot. By the way, no movie has ever made that much money so quickly. As you will read in the article, ‘Avatar’ had the benefit of hitting theaters late in the year and didn’t have much competition. ‘Endgame’ will not have that luxury with Detective Pikachu coming into theaters this upcoming weekend and ‘Godzilla’ and ‘Aladdin’ following close by.

With that said, my money is still on ‘Endgame’ to take the #1 spot eventually. People likely will go multiple times to see the movie in theaters around the world and, this is important, THE MOVIE HAS ALREADY MADE OVER $2 BILLION! It’s not like the movie is losing any momentum. And let’s be honest, regardless of what ‘Detective Pikachu’ does this weekend, ‘Endgame’ is still going to be the #1 movie after Mothers Day weekend. It likely will be #1 until Aladdin hits theaters on May 24th.
