Annual Coat Drive to Benefit The Salvation Army
Bloomington, IL – As the temperatures begin to drop, The Salvation Army of McLean County has started their annual coat drive. The Salvation Army will be collecting coats and winter accessories (hates, gloves scarves etc.) for all ages, beginning in October and continuing through mid-January. We currently have a need for large coats (2XL and Larger) for adults and children’s coats. Coat collection locations include:
- The Salvation Army, 611 West Washington Street, Bloomington, IL
- All Bloomington/Normal Gold’s Gym & Gold’s Gym Express Locations (Through January)
- OrangeTheory Fitness – 1500 E Empire St. A-13, Bloomington, IL 61701
- All Commerce Bank Branch Locations in Bloomington/Normal (Through Thanksgiving)
Distribution began on Tuesday, October 31st and will run through January 30th. Anyone in need of a coat can come to The Salvation Army Community Center located at 611 West Washington Street, Bloomington, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 10 am – 3 pm. To receive a coat, you must bring a Photo ID, Social Security Card(s) for anyone receiving a coat and a current piece of mail.

Coat Drive to Aid Salvation Army
McLean County Board Member Jim Soeldner will kick off his 8th Salvation Army coat and clothing drive this month. All types of clothing for all ages will be accepted, along with cash donations.
“We understand the need for clothing in earthquake and hurricane devastated areas, but these donations will stay and be used locally. The drive will be on 4 consecutive Saturdays in October and November, beginning on Saturday, October 21st. The location list is as follows:
