Since the beginning of the project, we knew Orlando Bloom was coming back to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, reprising his role of Will Turner in the upcoming fifth installment of the franchise ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales”. Since that confirmation, people, myself included, have openly wondered whether that meant actress Keira Knightley would be coming back as well. And now, we have our answer, and it is YES!

The confirmation comes thanks to an international trailer for the upcoming movie dropped yesterday. We see Keira, for only about a second, in character as Elizabeth Swann. Something we obviously don’t know is how large her role is. Do we see her and Orlando Bloom rekindle the love story of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann? Is she used primarily in flashback scenes? Do she and Captain Jack drink rum on a beach again? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Now, I will admit, I’m happy Keira Knightley is in this movie. The 4th ‘Pirates’ movie missed her and Orlando Bloom’s characters considerably. What I’m a little salty about is this news coming in an international trailer just a few weeks before the premiere. Why not keep this under wraps until the opening weekend? I would have loved to have been surprised with her showing up in the movie. Now with that being said, I still have so many questions about her part in the movie that my excitement for the movie has somehow doubled.
