Earlier this morning (3/29) Keith Urban posted the picture above on his Twitter account. Is this the album cover for his forthcoming new album RipCORD?
The picture was posted with the simple message: “#Ripcord is coming 5.6!!!!!”
Yesterday Rolling Stone Country posted a story about spending some time with Keith in the recording studio and talking about what will be his ninth studio album.
Keith told the publication, “This is way more than I’ve ever cut before,” as he showed them the 20 tracks that he initially recorded for possible inclusion on the album. “It was a lot of searching, a lot of experimenting, and when you get to work with as many people as I did, you end up with a lot of stuff,” Keith explained.
The new tracks included some collaborations with other musicians and performers like Pitbull who appears on a track called “Sun” which is the first song by Keith to include a rap verse. The Australian born country music star says of Pitbull’s part on the song, “He brings a mischievous, sexy swagger to it, in a very different way.”

Here is what we know for sure about Keith’s new album RipCORD. It has already produced two #1 songs, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” and “Break On Me.” The album will drop May 6th. Keith will embark on a 2016 tour named after the album featuring special guests Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris which will make a stop here in Bloomington, IL at US Cellular Coliseum November 12th.
Keith has revealed that “Wasted Time” will be the next single from the new album. You can get a first listen to Keith Urban’s new single at the bottom of the page.
What we don’t know yet is a track list and if in fact the picture above is the album cover.
What do you think? Should that be the album cover for RipCORD, Keith Urban’s new album?
