The Knockout Rounds continued last night (4/3) as the coaches and artists on The Voice get closer to the live shows in season 14. What happened with Blake Shelton and Team Blake?
The episode was only an hour last night, so there was only a single pairing for Team Blake this time. Blake paired Jaron Strom with Pryor Baird for this Knockout Round set of performances.
Jaron took on a big challenge choosing to perform “Grenade” by Bruno Mars. While you want to let the artist make the song their own, with the level that Bruno sings and performs his music, you can’t help having that level in mind for the artist to live up to.
Pryor took the stage to perform his version of Billy Preston’s “Will It Go Round in Circles.” It was a good choice for him and fit his style a voice well.
Blake made what seemed like the obvious choice to me and kept Pryor on his team moving forward. I have no disrespect toward Jaron in my previous statement. In fact, I feel like he has quite a lot of potential. I just think based on these two performances Pryor was the clear choice of being ready to compete in the live shows.
You can go to The Voice official website to find out where all of the teams sit after the first two nights of the Knockout Rounds.
Next week when the Knockout Rounds continue on The Voice Season 14 Blake has just one pair or artist remaining, Wilkes and Dylan Hartigan. Blake has already used his “Save,” but he still has a “Steal” to use.
The Knockouts continue Monday night, April 9th at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
