My dear Bruegalaoneons lend me your taste buds!
Once again Summer is upon us, and with the heat comes my fair charity beer and wine festival, BRUEGALA! For those unacquainted, Bloomington-Normal Jaycees’ Bruegala is a two day festival that occurs over the last weekend of August. As it happens this year – August 28-29. For the festivities, my merry Jaycee jesters will bring in over 300 beers and over 50 wines – some of the best in the lands. In addition to the delicious brews, there are also multiple bands playing on two different stages, and several food vendors serving up tantalizing fare.
This is Bruegala’s 16th year, and the Jaycees have BIG news… possibly earth shattering news. Though I would say this is nothing compared to my beer expeditions in Scandinavia where I met a well-to-do gentlemen by the name of Saint Nicholas (whom oddly only works one day a year) and enjoyed a libation with hints of cardamom and nutmeg. But I digress. Bruegala is moving again. In the history of Bruegala this is the third time we’ve expanded to improve and better my festival.
So, without further ado, (and with trumpets blaring) I, Baron von Bruegala proclaim the bands for Bruegala 2015! To keep you entertained between your beverages, the Friday headliner is Red Wanting Blue with Zach Lindley and Ed Anderson opening. On Saturday, The Steep Water Band headlines with Dan Hubbard, Kyle Yap, and Robert Brown Band opening.
As a reminder, Bruegala is a charity event. The BEST part of this event is the beer. It also happens to benefit 7 different charities in the local community which makes the beer taste even better. This year, the proceeds are going to the following charities via the hosting Bloomington-Normal Jaycees: Community Healthcare Clinic, MARC First, Wishbone Canine Rescue, Autism McLean, Bike BloNo, and Heartland Head Start.
I and my Jaycee Merry Makers look forward to welcoming you to our new location where the beer flows freely and everyone drinks merrily.
“So drink until you’re full…it’s for charity after all.”
Baron Adensol Byron Claypigeon von Brüegala
