The Illinois State Redbirds move on to the second round of the NIT and will host another game on Monday night at Redbird arena after a 69-56 win over Green Bay. The birds travel to Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia for the second round of the NIT.
Paris Lee led the Redbirds to victory with a career high 18 points. I’m wondering if there wasn’t some luck of the Irish left over from the upset win Normal Community enjoyed on St. Patrick’s Day. If the boys pull out a win in Virginia there is a possibility of hosting another round.
