A cross-country runner‘s victory celebration didn’t quite go as planned as he crossed the finish line to win the race.
Huffingtonpost.com reports that Jimmy Gressier competed on the European Cross-Country Championships this past weekend in the Netherlands. The French runner was about to cross the finish line to defend his under-23 men’s title when he decided on a special way to cross the finish line.
Obviously the plan was to slide across the finish line in a manner similar to what soccer players do after scoring a goal. That plan did not quite happen as it likely played out in Gressier’s mind.
The celebration didn’t go according to plan but his performance was brilliant!

While his victory celebration ended in a fail, Jimmy Gressier still won the race and defended his title. At least he has that to fall back on as he watches the video of his face plant over and over.
