Dolly Parton Breaks Her Silence on Elle King’s “Hammered” Performance at Tribute Show

Last month, during her 78th birthday party in Nashville, Dolly Parton ignored Elle King’s intoxicated Grand Ole Opry performance.

“Elle is really a great artist; she’s a great girl,” the “Jolene” singer told Extra TV in an interview published Friday (February 9th).

Dolly continued, “She’s been going through a lot of hard things lately, and she just had too much to drink, so let’s just forgive that, forget it, and move on, ’cause she felt worse than anybody ever could.”

King shocked fans by admitting she was “f—ing hammered” before performing Parton’s 2001 hit “Marry Me” at the country music hall on January 19th.
