Labor Day Weekend is this week. It is the unofficial end of summer. Here are five ways you can enjoy the three-day holiday weekend to end summer.

Head to a Beach – Nothing says summer like sand between your toes. While we don’t have any oceans around central Illinois, there are beaches at lakes and rivers to enjoy.

Enjoy a Local Park – There are parks in town and out of town to enjoy before it gets too cold to spend time in them. Some of the state parks in the area have hiking trails to enjoy.

One Last Camping Trip – Get out and enjoy nature one more time before the weather changes and makes it harder to do so. Again, some of the state parks in the area have great camping available.

Go to the Lake – If you have access to a boat, get it out on the water one more time. Fishing, skiing or just cruising the lake to relax. If you don’t have a boat, you can still fish, swim and camp at the lake.

Have a Cookout – Before the weather begins to change, get family and friends together to enjoy some time together and good food outside.

How do you plan on ending the summer this Labor Day Weekend?
