How appropriate that the love song “Thank God” by Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn has hit number one on the charts for Valentine’s Day.

Both the Billboard Country Airplay and the Mediabase Country Aircheck charts have “Thank God” in the top spot for this week. It is the ninth career #1 for Kane and Katelyn’s first.

The Browns join six other married couples in country music that have been at number one together.

George Jones and Tammy Wynette did it three times (“We’re Gonna Hold On” – “Golden Rig” – “Near You”).

Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black did it with “When I Said I Do.”

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “It’s Your Love” spent six weeks at number one.

Blake Shelton had a #1 song with “Boys ‘Round here” which featured the Pistol Annies. His wife at that time was Miranda Lambert who is a member of the Pistol Annies. Blake has had two #1s with Gwen Stefani (“Nobody But You” – “Happy Anywhere”). However, both were before they got married.

Thompson Square is Keifer and Shawn Thompson who scored two number ones (“Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” – “If I Didn’t Have You”).

Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook are members of Little Big Town. The two got married in 2006. Since their wedding date the group has made it to #1 twice (“Pontoon” – “Better Man”).

Many people reading this (including myself had I not written it) might say what about Johnny and June? In my research for this blog I could not find a song by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash that hit number ones. There were a couple that made it to number two, but none to the top of the chart. If you know of one, please let me know.

Congratulations to Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown for adding your names to this prestigious list of husbands and wives that have topped the country charts together.
