A K-9 in Michigan is in hot water after he allegedly stole a police officer’s lunch.

The theft occurred at the headquarters of the Wyandotte Police Department, where the dog’s owner was called away from the break room while eating lunch, a department official says. When he returned, he discovered his entire lunch was “gone … disappeared, vanished,” according to a post on social media. He also noticed the dog, named Ice, “leisurely strolling out of the room licking his chops,” the post reads. A rep for the department says Ice “frankly is not cooperating with the investigation.”

The post, which features the mugshot above of Ice, has garnered more than 18,000 comments from people, most of whom defended the K-9. One even dropped off a sandwich for Ice, saying the dog obviously isn’t getting enough to eat, per the department. “The overall public just doesn’t believe he is guilty,” Wyandotte police write. “Dozens of attorneys have offered to defend Officer Ice pro-bone-o.”
