Avatar: The Way of Water is #1 at the box office once again – holding off a stiff challenge from the horror movie M3GAN.

The James Cameron-directed sequel earned another $45 million over the weekend, bringing its global total to more than $1.7 billion.

M3GAN earned a better-than-expected $30 million to grab the #2 spot. Puss In Boots: The Last Wish finished third with $12.4 million.

A Man Called Otto ($4.2 million) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ($3.3 million) rounded out the top five.
