Thomas Rhett and Riley Green sing together on Thomas’ latest single, “Half of Me.” Thomas and Riley did not record their parts of the song at the same time> However, Thomas was in the studio when Riley recorded his part. They both say they had a ton of fun together in the studio that day.

Thomas Rhett – “It was a blast for me because I didn’t have to do anything. My parts were already laid down.“

Riley Green – “He had one of those little sticks, like the band director has, just standing in the background. No, it was fun. It didn’t seem like work. It was an easy day in the studio. And for me, personally, it was pretty exciting to know that all of Thomas’ fans were gonna hear this song, and maybe I can get a few of ‘em.”

Thomas – “I thought it was cool because sometimes when you do collaborations … I mean, I’ve done collaborations before where I probably wasn’t as prepared as I should be when I walked into the studio. And I’m sittin’ there goin’, ‘I hope Riley’s listened to this song a couple times.“

Riley – “I know you weren’t gonna say… I was prepared.“

Thomas – “No, you were prepared! And there wasn’t even a lyric sheet, I don’t think. So, obviously Riley had listened to the song a bunch and he made it super easy for us. And I think you sang the song three times and it was finished.”

Riley – “I listened to it in the driveway.“

“Half of Me” is featured on Thomas Rhett’s latest album, Where We Started.
