Kelsea Ballerini and Kelly Clarkson share the hilarious story behind the making of Kelsea’s new song “You’re Drunk, Go Home,” and the fact that Kelly admits she was actually drunk while in the studio recording her part.

Hilarious!

The song also features Carly Pearce, and Kelsea says she knew she wanted the song to be a female trio and that is had to be Kelly Clarkson and Carly Pearce.

Kelsea says, “I felt that there’s some sass and comedy to this song, so I thought, ‘Who are the women in my life that are artists that have both of those things?’ Carly and I have been friends for, like, 10 years, before either of us had anything going on and we’ve just seen each other personally and professionally through so many seasons of life. We’ve always wanted to do a song together and this made sense.”

Kelsea was in the studio when Carly laid down her harmony and melody vocals, and they turned the recording session into a girls’ night. I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall for that.

Kelsea just released her fourth full-length studio album, Subject to Change, Friday (9/23), and you can watch her on The Kelly Clarkson Show today (9/30).

BTW, you can listen to the new song, “You’re Drunk, Go Home” right here.
