Jackson Dean’s top ten single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” was inspired by the time he would spend in the woods near his house as a kid, to get away from everyone and everything. Based on his experience, Jackson grew to love the time he spent alone, and he’s certain he would have no problem surviving if he got dropped in the middle of the woods, as long as he had his pocket knife or some sort of blade.

“Do you know that show Alone? If I wasn’t doin’ this, I’d be out there right now. When I was a kid, I used to run off in the woods for days at a time, and I was in there more than I was with people pretty much. It’s a very important thing to know, if the world goes up in flames you know you can go and survive. That’s how they did it for thousands upon thousands of years. That’s somethin’ a lot of people don’t know how to do nowadays, to get dropped in the woods with a knife and be able to live. I like knowing that I can do that, and I like doin’ it.”

Alone is a survival show on the History Channel where people compete to see who can survive the longest by themselves in the wilderness.

Could you survive in the woods by yourself if you had to?
