“Baby Shark” is First Video to Reach 10 Billion Views on YouTube

The music video that may just drive you crazy the most is now the first video to reach 10 billion views on YouTube.

“Baby Shark” was released in 2016. The infectious children’s song quickly became one that parents dreaded and children loved. The viral dance challenge that also came with the music video helped secure the video’s hold on the young ones.

Thursday, January 13, 2022 the music video hit the 10 billion view mark. It is still growing as another 8.2 million views plus have been added as of the writing of this blog.

The video in second place for most views on YouTube is Luis Fonsi – “Despacito” ft. Daddy Yankee. That video has 7.7 billion views as of the writing of this blog.

Billboard reports Min-seok Kim, CEO of “Baby Shark” creator The Pinkfong Co., said in a statement, “It has been a truly meaningful journey to witness how Baby Shark has connected people around the world, and we can’t wait to introduce Baby Shark’s further adventures that will bring unparalleled experiences to even more fans everywhere.”
