Parker McCollum has admitted that his hit song, “To Be Loved By You,” was inspired by his fiancée, Hallie Ray Light, but says “it’s not incredibly true about her.”

McCollum says he was thinking about Hallie when he recorded the hook, ‘What does a man have to do to be loved by you?’”

The singer says although the song is a “heartbreak love song,” which is his favorite type of song to pen, the top 20 song isn’t totally about his wife-to-be.

Parker and Hallie are set to get married in March, to which McCollum says he’s ready for.
