Luke Combs did have an alternate career path in mind at one time. He wanted to be a homicide detective.

Luke’s latest single “Doin’ This” reveals that the country music singer-songwriter would still be doing what he is now even without the mega success he has achieved. However, he shares there was a time when he had a completely different idea of what he would be doing for a job. That is until he realized one thing about that career path.

“Actually, I wanted to be a homicide detective, is what I wanted to do. I kinda realized, way too late on in college, that I kinda didn’t realize that you had to be a cop for 10 years to do that. And I just didn’t think that I was tough enough to be a cop for ten years, so … And that was just something I didn’t think I was cut out to do.”

Luckily for country music fans he is cut out for writing songs and singing them. Listen for the latest single “Doin’ This” from Luke Combs on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
