Lauren Alaina has been a busy bee…not only does she have a new album dropping Friday, but her new book and Hallmark movie are also coming soon!

Lauren opens up about many things in her new album, Sitting Pretty on Top of the World, and in her new book, Getting Good at Being You.

She says the album is to show the world she is no longer a young lady, but a woman. All of the writing she has done for her new projects has represented alot of healing for Lauren.

She opens up about her struggles with depression, before, during, and since the start of the pandemic, she discusses her very public breakups, and being judged for her body and the way she looks.

In a candid new interview she explains her eating disorder which began at the age of 15 when she was introduced to the world on American Idol.

“I was on national television at 15,” Lauren says. “People called me fat, there was a blog that called me Miss Piggy and put a pig snout on my face…[people] can be really cruel, and I didn’t have tools to deal with that.”

Lauren battled with bulimia from that pressure, but when she was told that it was affecting her singing voice, that was the wake up call she needed.

“They told me that if I didn’t stop, I would never sing again, and I didn’t want that.”

Lauren’s new album, Sitting Pretty on Top of the World, is out Friday, 9/3. Her Hallmark movie, Roadhouse Romance, premieres 9/11, and her book, Getting Good at Being You, is out 11/23.

Here are a couple sneak peaks of her new Hallmark movie.
