If you follow Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley (BK) on social media, you’ve probably heard him refer to himself as a beach cowboy. While it fits because he’s a country singer living down along the Gulf Coast in Florida, to BK, it’s more than that. “It’s just kind of a lifestyle. It’s kind of a don’t take yourself too serious lifestyle. It’s a Florida boy lifestyle as much as it is a anywhere lifestyle.”

BK thinks anybody can adopt the attitude of a beach cowboy if you cultivate a “Take a little sunshine with you when you go kind of mindset.”

While BK was raised in Florida, he moved to Nashville for college and hung around for several years while getting Florida Georgia Line off the ground with Tyler Hubbard, and then a few years ago he and his wife moved back to the beach in Florida, and he says, the idea of being a beach cowboy was, “just inspired by being at the beach, bein’ home in Florida and probably inspired by a couple of spicy margaritas, if I’m being honest.”

Listen for Florida Georgia Line singing in the latest single from Chase Rice “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” (which has the theme and attitude BK is talking about ) on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
