Britney Spears Tells The World How Bad Her Conservatorship Really Is

Britney Spears just wants her life back.

In a rare public appearance in court, Britney told a Los Angeles judge that she has been drugged, forced to work against her will, and prevented from removing her birth control device over the past 13 years as she pleaded with the court to end her father’s legal control in her life.

During the virtual appearance she told the court, “I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK, and I’m happy. It’s a lie. I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized. Fake it ’til you make it, but now I’m telling you the truth, OK? I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m depressed. I cry every day.”

She also said, “It’s demoralizing what I’ve been through. I’ve never said it openly – I never thought anyone would believe me. I’m not lying. I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years, and it’s been enough. I want to be able to be heard. I’ve kept this in for so long – it’s not good for my heart. I’ve been so angry, and I cry every day.”

She also said that she has no privacy, that the conservatorship is doing more harm than good, and she feels bullied and alone.

It was the first time that the world had heard Britney address in detail her struggles with the conservatorship granted to her father in 2008.

Britney called for the arrangement to end without her “having to be evaluated.” She said, “I shouldn’t be in a conservatorship if I can work. The laws need to change,” she added. “I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I don’t feel like I can live a full life.”

If she can work and pay other people, she shouldn’t have her life controlled, period. Documents were released earlier this week that showed Britney making $2,000 a week at the height of her Las Vegas Residency, when the residency itself earned ove $100 Million.

That is insane.
