Alex Miller Puts A Spin On Merle Haggard For ‘American Idol’, Gets Invite To Perform At The Grand Ole Opry [VIDEOS]

Alex Miller may have come to the end of the road on American Idol after putting his own touch on Merle Haggard’s “Silver Wings” on Sunday evening (March 28th) but it wasn’t the end of his singing career.

Idol judge Luke Bryan delivered the disappointing news to Miller but the sad news was short-lived with a FaceTime call between Miller and Bryan.

Luke called Alex to make good on a promise he had made to him during his audition, which was an invite to the Grand Ole Opry.

“I made some calls to my good friends at the Grand Ole Opry and they agreed to let my buddy Alex Miller come perform at the Grand Ole Opry,” said Luke. “And maybe I’ll share the stage with you a little bit if you’ll have me.” Over course, Miller was overcome with emotion and said the moment would be a full-circle one for him after he toured the Opry as a young child.
