Keith Urban recently said it was “unbelievable” collaborating with Pink. He now elaborates about working with an artist he considers to be “one of the great singers.”

Keith’s forthcoming new album The Speed of Now Part 1 includes the song “One Too Many” which he recorded with Pink. Keith says he has always wanted to record something with her.

“Yeah, I’ve always loved Pink’s voice [and] I just love her as an artist. And she’s one of the great singers and literally I mean that. [She’s] one of the great singers in the world period — there would be no singer that would really argue that truth. And I always hoped that I could find something one day that might work, and this song came about.”

How did Keith present the idea of the collaboration to Pink?

“I didn’t really know her, so I found someone who knew her and got the song to her and, luckily, she loved it.”

The music video for the song has already been recorded. Keith can’t wait for everybody to see it, but is keeping most of the details quiet until it is released.

“We just shot the video to that recently, so I’m really excited for everyone to get to see the video. Uh, we had to shoot it remotely, of course, but we made that part of the story line of the video. So, that’s all I can say.”

Keith and Pink will perform “One Too Many” and Keith will also serve as host on tonight’s ACM Awards Show.

Keith’s new album The Speed of Now Part 1 will be released this Friday, September 18th. Listen for the current single from the album “God Whispered Your Name” on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
